Alpine A290 is a compact electric hot hatch introduced in June 2024. Essentially a powerful version of the Renault 5 electric hatchback: both are based on the new AmpR Small platform with fully independent suspension, which was specially developed for small electric vehicles. The “charged” Alpine A290 is distinguished from the basic hatchback by an aggressive body kit, extended wheel arches, additional spotlights with crosses on the front bumper, a different wheel design and 225/40 R19 sports tires. Inside there are special decorative elements from Alpine, an original three-spoke steering wheel, a high central tunnel with a push-button transmission control panel, sports front seats with increased lateral support, modified instrument graphics and special sports modes. The operation of the electric motor is accompanied by two dramatic synthetic soundtracks. The suspension was given sporty settings, and powerful Brembo brakes were installed at the front. There is one electric motor installed on the front axle, but there are two versions. The Alpine A290 has a range of approximately 380 km.
