تاتا Sumo - الكتالوج والمواصفات الفنية

The Tata Sumo is a compact 5-door, 5-seater SUV produced from 1994 to 2019. The name “Sumo” was given in honor of one of the founders of Tata Motors, Sumanth Mulgaokar. The car had all-wheel drive, but only in military and export versions; initially only a rear-wheel drive version was offered for sale in India. The design was based on Tata's own Telcoline pickup platform, or more precisely, on its off-road version Sierra. Under the hood was a licensed 2-liter in-line 4-cylinder diesel engine from the French company Peugeot with a capacity of 63 hp. s., which was paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. In 1996, especially for export versions with all-wheel drive, the engine was equipped with a turbocharger and boosted to 90 hp, a center differential lock and a transmission with a reduced gear were installed. Therefore, such an SUV coped well even with serious off-road conditions. In 1996, the model line was supplemented by a “Deluxe” version with a rich set of equipment. Just a couple of years after the launch of production, the Tata Sumo achieved great success in the market, becoming the leader in the Indian commercial vehicle segment: more than 100 thousand units were sold in India until 1997. This was the main reason for the long production of the model and the appearance of various variants of its assembly. In 2000, the Spacio version appeared with a more economical 2.5-liter engine producing 65 hp. In 2007, the Spacio Gold Plus debuted with a 3-liter turbo engine producing 70 hp. and the Victa version with increased comfort, which received power steering and electric beet lifts. The second generation was released in 2008 under the name Tata Sumo Grande. But production of the first generation did not stop, continuing until 2019.
