It may be required to replace the steering gear if you notice the following signs: traces of oil under the car, steering wheel turning problems, steering wheel backlash, as well as knocking sounds in the gearbox. The general procedure for replacing a part is as follows: use a puller to remove the steering lever from the axle, remove the finishing panel located under the devices, disconnect the shaft from the gearbox, remove the thermal insulation shield, dismantle the gear and install a new one.
