The AITO M8 is a full-size crossover with plug-in hybrid and electric powertrains, first presented on March 6, 2025. This is the fourth model of the AITO brand after the flagship crossover M9, the mid-size M7 and the coupe-like M5. Hybrid versions of the M8 were released in China in April 2025, and a purely electric version appeared in August. The electric AITO M8 looks almost the same as the plug-in hybrid, only the grille in the front bumper is different, with a fine mesh and without a chrome crossbar. Dimensions: length - 5190 mm, wheelbase - 3110 mm for an electric car, 3105 mm for a hybrid. The standard wheels are installed at 20 or 21 inches. In terms of equipment, the M8 is not much inferior to the flagship, it just has a slightly more compact body. The interior can be configured with 2 rows and 5 seats or 3 rows with a 2+2+2 seating arrangement. A three-screen display is installed in the front, supplemented by a projection onto the windshield. For rear passengers, a movie screen is provided that descends from the ceiling. In addition, there is an outdoor cinema, so you can watch movies both inside and outside the car. The folding seats of the second row are equipped with extended footrests. For convenience, there is a built-in refrigerator and 26 niches for storing things. In 5-seater versions, the volume of the main trunk varies from 1086 to 2460 liters, in 6-seater versions - from 392 to 1323 liters. The electric crossover has an additional compartment with a volume of 149 liters in the front. The basic equipment includes powerful acoustics from Huawei, a rich set of electronic driver assistants and adaptive air suspension. The plug-in hybrid AITO M8 became the safest car in China, scoring 93.7% in C-NCAP crash tests. All electric versions are equipped with an 800-volt battery with a capacity of 100 kWh. The basic rear-wheel drive electric vehicle has a range of 705 km according to the CLTC cycle. The top-end dual-motor all-wheel drive version produces a total of 526 hp. The range on a single charge, depending on the equipment, is 625 or 655 km according to the CLTC cycle. The hybrid AITO M8 is equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine (160 hp), which operates in generator mode and charges the traction battery, and two electric motors with a total output of 533 hp. The capacity of the traction battery is 37 or 53.4 kW / h, the range on one charge without turning on the internal combustion engine is 161 and 235 km according to the CLTC cycle, respectively, the range in hybrid mode is 1405 and 1526 km.
