The Fiat 1100 is a small family car produced in Italy from 1937 to 1969. At first it was presented as an advanced version of the Fiat 508 “Balilla”, and only 2 years later, in 1939, it was given its own name Fiat 1100. Externally, the first car resembled the popular Fiat “mouse” nicknamed “Topolino”. The modestly priced car was distinguished by a high level of comfort, excellent handling and high performance. The model was produced until 1953 in three successive series 1100A, 1100B and 1100E, after which it was replaced by a completely new 4-door sedan with a modern monocoque body and a 5-door station wagon made on its basis; a little later a 2-seater roadster with an American design was released style. The uniqueness of the Fiat 1100 for its time was that, in essence, the “people's” car was at the same time ideal for the driver. Therefore, it was on the basis of the 1100S chassis that Fiat built its first post-war sports car, which took podium places at the 1947-48 Mille Miglia race.
