Afeela 1 - catalog and technical specifications
Afeela 1 is a full-size electric liftback jointly developed by Sony and Honda. Introduced January 2025. The creators position the electric car as far as possible from the driver’s ambitions: movement should reduce stress levels, the interior is designed for content consumption, the chassis is tuned for the most comfortable ride. The car received rounded, streamlined shapes and frameless doors with a standard electric drive. Instead of the usual door handles, there are buttons on the roof pillars. The driver's door can be opened automatically: sensors respond to a signal from a key or smartphone. A matrix panel with the ability to display messages and animations was placed between the headlights. 40 different artificial vision organs were integrated into the body, including 18 high-resolution cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors, 9 radars and lidar. The cabin is designed for five passengers. Instead of the usual steering wheel, a huge 4-screen display was placed on the front panel. A high-quality audio system and active noise insulation are promised. Traditional rear-view mirrors are complemented by side cameras and corresponding screens in the cabin. The screens can display information about road users, road signs, and weather. Multimedia, thanks to close collaboration with gaming giant Epic Games, is powered by Unreal Engine 5.3 and supports many popular programs. There is only one modification of Afeela 1 offered at the start of sales: two engines (front and rear, each with 245 horsepower) producing a total of 490 hp. A full charge of the 91 kWh lithium-ion traction battery lasts for 483 km on the EPA cycle.
