Alfa Romeo 2600 – overview
The Alfa Romeo 2600 is a series of successful luxury cars manufactured by Alfa Romeo from 1961 to 1968 in several versions: Berlina (4-door sedan), Spider (2-door convertible), and Sprint (2-door coupe). The 2600 differs from its predecessor 2000 by a 2.6-liter 6-cylinder injection engine. The new engine made the car heavier and longer in front. Unlike the controversial exterior of the car, the engine was well-received. The Berlina's styling was unnecessarily austere, the Spyder lacked the grace of a sporty model, and only the Sprint was not criticized: a large coupe could easily accommodate four adults without sacrificing performance. But today the Alfa Romeo 2600 is highly valued by collectors, perhaps just because of the great rarity of these cars.
