The very first Alfa Romeo Sprint is a coupe based on the popular Alfasud hatchback. It was produced from 1976 to 1983. The compact 2+2 coupe had an unusual location of the ignition key on the left side of the steering wheel. In 1983, the car became an independent model, was modernized and technically unified with the Alpha 33. The car was front-wheel and was known for its good handling.
