BMW 501 – overview
The BMW 501 is a family of luxury cars manufactured from 1952 to 1958 in 2-door convertible, coupe or 4-door sedan bodies. The car was the first BMW designed and produced after World War II. In Germany, it was nicknamed "Baroque Angel" for its peculiar appearance, somewhat pompous and pretentious. As a result, the technically sophisiticated and extremely comfortable car sold very poorly. However, the model lasted until 1958, and its modifications were produced until 1963.
