BMW 503 – overview
The 503 model is considered a big leap forward for the German manufacturer, at least in terms of exterior design. Compared to the previous heavy-weight Baroque Angels (501 and 502), the 503 grand tourer looked like a UFO. It was produced both as a coupe and as a convertible. The car was designed by the company's engineers, who decided to ignore foreign trends. As a result, the 503 was the first to be equipped with a power soft top as standard. Plus, it was the first to receive a 150 hp V8 engine and eventually became the most expensive production car of the 1950s.
