BMW Z3 – overview

The BMW Z3 is a 2-seater sports car available in roadster and coupe bodies. It was produced from 1996 to 2002. This is the first production car of the Z Series (Zukunft translates from German as "future"). The Z3 also became the first BMW model to be produced exclusively outside of Germany, in the United States. The roadster had a nice "toy-like" appearance and aroused genuine interest of connoisseurs. It was initially equipped with a 1.9-liter inline 4-cylinder engine with 138 hp, whereas a 2.8 liter inline 6-cylinder engine with 190 hp was introduced in 1997. The car demonstrated impeccable handling, but its behavior on the road was only for true fans of fast driving.
