Cadillac BLS - catalog and technical specifications
The Cadillac BLS is a luxury sedan and estate developed by Saab, a division of General Motors, and sold in Europe under the Cadillac brand from 2006 to 2009. In fact, it was a significantly redesigned Saab 9-3. The name “BLS” did not have an official interpretation, but in English-speaking countries the car was often jokingly called "Bit Like Saab" or "Bob Lutz Special", which hinted at GM Vice President Robert (Bob) Lutz, who oversaw the entire development process at that time. Lutz, a badge engineer, wanted to take advantage of the successful Saab 9-3 to fill a marketing gap in the Cadillac range. In the end, the BLS turned out to be a marketing error, but the collaboration paid off, which resulted in better overall product quality and production efficiency.
