Chrysler Stratus – overview
Introduced in 1995, the Chrysler Stratus was sold in Europe. It was marketed as Dodge Stratus in the United States. The mid-size sedan was based on the Chrysler JA platform and had two configurations: the standard SE and the advanced ES. In 2001, the second generation was released, followed by the Chrysler Stratus coupe, developed on the basis of the Mitsubishi Eclipse platform. It was equipped with an F4A42 Mitsubishi automatic transmission and 2.4-liter/2.7-liter V6 engines. The version of this car under the Chrysler brand became known as the Sebring. In 2002, the manufacturer released a special model, Chrysler Stratus R/T, which was equipped with a turbocharged engine. After the model was discontinued in the USA, the license for its production was bought by the Russian company GAZ, and the car was named Volga Siber.
