Windsor

Chrysler Windsor generations

The Chrysler Windsor is a full-size passenger car manufactured by Chrysler from 1939 to 1960 and continued to be produced in Canada until 1966. The car was available in 4-door sedan and 2-door coupe bodies, which were equipped with a hardtop. Initially, the Windsor was almost identical to the more luxurious New Yorker in size, interior and standard features. Starting in 1939, the Windsor began to resemble the Royal in terms of equipment, but was already richer and more expensive. In 1951, the Windsor became Chrysler's most expensive car. It was distinguished by a high level of comfort and ease of handling. In 1958, the Windsor was even equipped with a speed warning function. Thus, if the driver increased the speed, they could feel pressure on the pedal, which was a signal of overspeeding. Another feature was true cruise control. It was activated by pressing the speed setting knob.
