The Daihatsu Charmant is a subcompact sedan built by the Japanese automaker Daihatsu. It was based on the Toyota Corolla and was produced from 1981 to 1987. In addition to the Japanese domestic market, it was sold in small quantities in the UK. Initially, it was a popular 3-door hatchback. In 1982, a 4-door 5-seat sedan was released. The Daihatsu Charmant was distinguished by a small turning radius of only 9.6 m, which provided the car with sufficient maneuverability. The maximum speed of the car, equipped with an 83-horsepower engine, reached 170 km/h. The average consumption of gasoline was 7.5 liters per 100 km.
