Ford Consul – overview
First introduced in 1951 as a mid-priced passenger car by the British subsidiary of Ford, the Ford Consul was an affordable version of the Zephyr. In 1972, the name Consul was revived for the Granada model, which was sold in Europe with 4-cylinder engines of various sizes. The model with this name was discontinued at the end of 1975, but the old name Granada remained in use.
