Ford Maverick - catalog and technical specifications
The Ford Maverick is a mid-size SUV that turned into a compact SUV in the second generation. The Maverick was introduced in 1993. It was made in Barcelona at the Nissan plant. The vehicle became a copy of the Japanese Terrano II SUV and therefore had a body-on-frame structure, a rigidly connected front axle, a reduction gear range, as well as gasoline and diesel engines. Such a vehicle was produced until the end of 1998, after which the agreement with Nissan was terminated. The second Maverick, which had nothing to do with the first, debuted in 2000, and it was called the Escape in the USA. The SUV received 2- and 3-liter engines, an all-wheel drive transmission without a reduction gear, and therefore was no longer an off-road vehicle. It was produced until 2007.
