Ford Taunus – overview
The Ford Taunus is the common name for a range of family cars produced from 1964 to 1982. In Argentina, the production of cars with that name continued until 1984, in Turkey until 1994. The name comes from the Taunus mountain range, located in central Germany. Until 1964, the Taunus models did not carry Ford’s designations or emblems, sporting the coat of arms of the city of Cologne, where Ford’s office was located. All the models of the family were rear-wheel drive and were mid-size or large.
