Mazda AZ-1 generations

The Mazda AZ-1 is a 2-seater sports coupe designed and manufactured by Suzuki, but sold by Mazda under its own name from 1992 to 1994. Suzuki released it as the Suzuki Cara, and Mazda only slightly changed its exterior. It was also known as the Mazda Avtozam AZ-1 and Mazda AZ-550. The car belonged to the kei class, which comprised compact cars, very popular in Japan. The Mazda AZ-1 was distinguished by the gull-wing doors. Such an innovative technology implied that a door was hinged at the roof rather than the side, which allowed you to get into the car in a more comfortable way.
