Mazda Chantez generations

The Mazda Chantez is a compact 3-door hatchback produced from 1972 to 1976. The name "chantez" comes from the French word "chanter", which means "to sing". The tiny car with a length of only 3 meters had a rear-wheel drive system and was equipped with a 2-cylinder engine with 30 hp. It was a true kei car, so beloved by the Japanese at the time. Initially, the manufacturer planned to equip the Chanteza with a single-rotor Wankel engine, but these plans had to be abandoned. Therefore, Mazda lost interest in the further release of the kei car.
