Mazda RX-8 generations

The Mazda RX-8 is a 2-door sports coupe that came to replace the RX-7. It was produced from 2003 to 2012. The 4-seater rear-wheel drive sports coupe retained the rear-hinged doors without B-pillars and an unusual new generation rotary piston engine, which allowed reducing gasoline and oil consumption by 20% and by 50%, respectively, while complying with Euro 4 environmental standards. As a result, the engine received the title "Engine of 2003".
