McLaren 540C – overview
The McLaren 540C is a modification of the 570C sports mid-engined coupe for everyday driving. First shown in Shanghai in 2016, the car has become almost the most affordable in the model range. The letter "C" in the index is short for the word "Club", and the numbers "540" indicate engine power. Designed with comfort in mind, the coupe is technically and visually similar to its 570S progenitor, with a 3.8-litre engine powered by a 7-speed SSG robotic transmission and double-wishbone suspension.
