Mercedes W188 generations

The progenitor of the current Mercedes-Benz S-Class and SL, the Mercedes W188 was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in 1951. A series of luxury coupes and convertibles from Mercedes-Benz was based on the flagship model Mercedes-Benz 300 Adenauer. It was produced from 1951 to 1958.
