MG Montego – overview
The MG Montego is a compact 2-seater sports car, better known as the Austin Montego, produced by British Leyland from 1984 to 1990. It was a very controversial car: a comfortable interior, handling and driving performance were beyond praise, but the build quality was bad. The body was prone to rust. First, the sports car featured a rather weak 115 hp engine, but later the manufacturers corrected this error by equipping the car with a properly tuned turbocharged engine with 150 hp. Interestingly, the modern connoisseurs of classic cars are nor very fond of the MG Montego, but it does have a small group of loyal fans.
