Nissan Cefiro generations

The Nissan Cefiro is a 5-seater mid-size sedan and estate. The model has been sold worldwide since 1988 under various names: Maxima, Infiniti I30 and I35. The name "Cefiro" comes from the Spanish word for "wind". The car was equipped with VQ-series 6-cylinder engines, which for more than ten years in a row were included in the top 10 best engines according to the American magazine Ward's Autoworld. Designed for the domestic market, the first generation was rear-wheel drive. The turbocharged 6-cylinder version was especially popular due to its excellent drifting abilities. The second and third generations received front-wheel drive with a V6 engine and conquered export markets. The Nissan Cefiro was discontinued in 2008. In the future, the car was sold under the Infiniti brand.
