Opel Monterey – overview
The Opel Monterey is basically a rebadged Isuzu Trooper mid-size SUV for the European market. The model was produced by Opel under the name "Monterey" from 1992 to 1999. Developed jointly with Honda and Isuzu, the vehicle was an attempt by GM to get a significant share of the European market. Contrary to its segment, the SUV received soft design lines, large windows and spacious interior. Overall, it could be considered a family car. Among other things, the Monterey was richly equipped and had very reliable engines.
