Renault 4CV generations

The Renault 4CV is a supermini car produced by Renault from 1947 to 1961. Interestingly, Renault engineers designed it in secret when France was occupied by Germany during World War II. This small and fuel-efficient car was just right for surviving the difficult post-war times. At the moment of its introduction, the 4CV was nicknamed "La motte de beurre" (a piece of butter), as it had the same shape and base color. Next, it was renamed "quatre pattes" (four paws) for amazing tenacity (sometimes excessive). The car was considered quite comfortable, had very good engines for its time and responsive control. Therefore, it is not surprising that it became the most popular car in France at the time.
