Renault Fuego – overview
The Renault Fuego is an innovative sports hatchback produced by Renault from 1980 to 1985. The car received a very sporty design, with a high rear end. Moreover, such a "playful" appearance was determined not so much by aesthetic needs as by the requirements for aerodynamics and spaciousness. The manufacturer claims that this model is the first mass-produced sports car developed in a wind tunnel. In 1982, the Fuego equipped with a turbocharged diesel engine became the fastest diesel car in the world with a top speed of 180 km/h. It also was the world’s first car to be equipped with the remote engine start system and audio system remote control.
