Toyota Innova – overview
The Toyota Innova is a 7-seater body-on-frame minivan based on the Toyota Hilux pickup, a vehicle specially designed for the markets of various poor countries. It has been produced since 2004. The name "Innova" is an abbreviation of the English word "innovation". The 2015 second generation received new diesel engines and upgraded gasoline units. There are 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions. The minivan features an independent front suspension and a rigid axle rear suspension. After the 2020 restyling, the manufacturer introduced the top-end Venturer version with plastic overlays around the perimeter of the body, black decor and 17-inch wheels. Inside, the vehicle features leather upholstery, a 9-inch multimedia screen, wood-grain inserts, side airbags and curtain airbags (other versions have only front airbags and a knee airbag for the driver).
