Toyota Lite Ace – overview
The Toyota Lite Ace is a minivan assembled on the chassis of the Toyota Town Ace Truck. The model was produced from 1971 to 2020. In addition to Japan, it was often sold in the USA and Europe. Until 1986, an exclusively rear-wheel drive version was offered, followed by all-wheel drive minibuses and microtrucks with a plug-in front axle (Part time 4WD). Until 1996, the Light Ace was a mid-engine body-on-frame minibus, offered in passenger (7-9 seats) or cargo (5 seats) versions, equipped with a manual gearbox or Aisin automatic transmission.
