Before removing the starter from the car, disconnect the battery, remove the lower engine protection, after which dismantle the starter. Most often, as part of the repair, the gearbox, the retractor relay, the replacement of the brush assembly or the overrunning clutch (one-way clutch of a starter) are replaced.
