Apal Speedster - catalog and technical specifications
The Apal Speedster is arguably the most successful and even iconic model of Apal. This 2-door, 2-seater roadster was a replica of the Porsche 356. Its 1640 cc engine produced 66 horsepower (or 90 in the high-powered version) at 5500 rpm. Weighing only 715 kg, this lightweight rear-wheel drive car could reach top speeds of up to 172 km/h (107 mph). Between 1981 and 1994, 700 units were sold before the factory closed down. Production of the Apal Speedster resumed in Germany from 1998 to 2006.
