Asia Motors Co founded in 1965 was one of the first South Korean manufacturers of medium and heavy trucks, special military equipment, cars, off-roaders (the most famous of which are Rocsta and Retona), buses and minibuses. ASIA cooperated with FIAT in the motor car segment and the French UNIC was its first partner to manufacture freight vehicles. After Asia moved under the wing of KIA, the company started manufacturing Hino trucks. The Asia brand was wound up in 1999. However! Some of the Kia army trucks are nothing more than upgraded Asia vehicles. That’s the way Asia trucks went from the onset of the production. It seems that the brand is gone but the legacy continues to exist!
