Austin Metro - catalog and technical specifications

The Austin Metro is the British subcompact car that was produced from 1980 to 1998. It was released to complement and eventually replace the Austin Mini, but the latter outlived its intended successor by three years. In 1983, the Austin Metro was named Car of the Year by the What Car? magazine. During its 18-year life, the model was produced under the Austin, MG and Rover brands, and more than 2 million cars were produced. In December 1994, the subcompact car was renamed the Rover 100, and the van became known as the Morris Metro and later the Metrovan.
