The Austin Mini is a famous compact city car that has been produced since 1959. It proudly carried the status of an icon of British pop culture of the 60s. The model featured a compact transverse engine and front-wheel drive layout, which influenced the entire subsequent automotive industry. The Mini was recognized as the second most influential car of the 20th century after the Ford Model T. The recognizable design of the charming compact model was created by Sir Alec Issigonis. The model was offered in a variety of versions: estate, pickup, van and even buggy. The Mini "Cooper" and "Cooper S" sporty versions were successful in motorsport.
