Avtokam car models in Israel

Autocam made in Russia was conceived as "people's car". The management team of Russian KAMAZ, a company that manufactures trucks, decided to jointly manufacture an inexpensive car in 1990. The resulting "Association for Business Cooperation" named "Avtocam" includes 37 enterprises. However, later on a new idea – not to produce an original car but establish a SCD assembly of an inexpensive foreign car – was voiced. The choice turned to the British Rickman Ranger. This is how the first Russian "Ranger” manufactured by Autocam saw the light. A total of one to several hundreds of Ranger off-roaders was manufactured and the project finally sputtered to a halt in 1993.
