BMW XM – overview
The new BMW XM is not only the first hybrid crossover but also the first original model from the BMW M division in its 45-year history, as there is no "civilian" base version and there never will be. The new model differs from the standard M versions with its powerful gasoline-electric powertrain and unconventional design solutions. The BMW XM was first introduced as a concept in 2021, and the premiere of the production car took place in September 2022. The XM will be produced at the same plant in the USA where all BMW crossovers are made, from the X3 to the X7. Production is scheduled to start in December, and the crossover will go on sale in the spring of 2023. The key markets, in addition to the United States, are China and the Middle East.
