Citroen DS - catalog and technical specifications
The Citroën DS is one of the most famous and beautiful models of the French manufacturer that came third in the Car of the Century competition. "DS" is consonant with the French word “déesse”, literally meaning “goddess”, and the car is considered worthy of such a nickname. The Goddess was designed by master Flaminio Bertoni. The introduction of the new car was a huge cultural and political event for post-war Europe. Impressed by the beauty of the car, the owner of the famous auto repair shop, Henri Chapron, began work on its version in the convertible body, and his creation was well-received by the manufacturing company. Thanks to its surprisingly smooth ride, provided by hydropneumatic suspension, the car was very popular with officials, including the president of the country. Almost 1.5 million units have been released! The French Goddess lived a long life: from 1955 to 1975.
