The Italian car brand Cizeta launched in 1986 was a joint project between Claudio Zampolli, one of Europe's largest Ferrari dealerships, and engineer Giorgio Moroder. The name "Cizeta" originates from the Italian pronunciation of the initials C.Z., the name of Claudio Zampolli's co-founder. The very first Cizeta car, Moroder V16, was a fantastic success! Assembled by hand and featuring luxurious interior trim and a 300 HP engine, it surpassed all Ferrari and Lamborghini that existed at that time. However, only 17 cars were sold in 15 years. Cizeta was ultimately sold to Fiat that converted the plant to enable the manufacturing of components its own cars.
