Cord L-29 - catalog and technical specifications
The Cord L29 is the first American front-wheel drive car, introduced in 1929. Due to the lack of components typical of rear-wheel drive models, the car turned out to be much lower than similar models from the competitors. Production models and special versions built on the Cord chassis by American and European coachbuilders have won prizes in competitions around the world. The car was equipped with a full set of instruments, including a temperature sensor, an oil pressure sensor, a speedometer, etc. The model was equipped with a 5-liter engine with 125 hp. But, unfortunately, the Cord L29 could not survive the Great Depression and was discontinued in 1932. A total of 4,400 units were sold.
