Ford Model T - catalog and technical specifications
The Ford Model T was a compact car produced from October 1, 1908 to May 26, 1927. The iconic car is considered the first mass-produced car that made transportation affordable for middle-class Americans. For the first time, everyone was able to buy a car, because it became affordable for them. The relatively low price was the result of Henry Ford's efficient production, including the first use of assembly line technology instead of individual hand assembly. The Model T is named "Most Influential Car of the 20th Century" in the "Car of the Century" competition. The car, which had its own "popular" name "Tin Lizzie", became a symbol of the technological progress of the United States. A total of 15 million units have been released. For a long time, the Lizzie remained the best-selling car until 1972, when it was overtaken by the Volkswagen Beetle.
