The American automaker Geo was incorporated by General Motors in 1989 as a subdivision of Chevrolet. Geo's core business was the development and production of budget-oriented cars. Throughout its existence, it released Geo Metro hatchback, Geo convertible, Geo Prizm sedan based on Toyota Corolla, Tracker off-roader based on Suzuki Sidekick as well as compact Geo Storm based on Isuzu Impulse and Geo Spectrum based on Isuzu Gemini. Unfortunately, demand for Geo cars declined in the mid-1990s and General Motors transferred all of its developments to Chevrolet. In 1997, the Geo brand ceased to exist but Tracker and Metro can still be seen on the roads.
