IM L6 generations

The IM L6 is a full-size electric sedan, the fourth model of the Chinese startup IM Motors, a joint project between SAIC and Alibaba. Sales in China started in May 2024. The electric sedan received an aircraft steering wheel instead of a traditional steering wheel, a fully controlled landing gear, a lift-up screen on the front panel and a solid-state battery. Dimensions of the new product: length - 4931 mm, width - 1960 mm, height - 1474 mm, wheelbase - 2950 mm. The fully steerable chassis improves handling at high speeds and increases maneuverability at low speeds. In addition, a “crab mode” (the ability to drive sideways) and a “tank turn” (with a minimum radius) are promised. The solid-state battery is capable of providing up to 1000 km (according to the CLTC cycle) of range without recharging. However, the date of appearance of such a battery on a production machine has not been specified. Sales will begin with conventional lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 90 and 100 kW/h, in which case the range on a single charge will range from 700 to 770 km, depending on the modification. There will be two versions of the IM L6: a basic single-engine with an output of 250 kW (340 hp) and an all-wheel drive dual-engine with 579 kW (787 hp). The most powerful version accelerates to “hundreds” in less than 3 seconds.
