Lotus Elise - catalog and technical specifications
The Lotus Elise is a two-door roadster produced from 1995 to 2021. It was a pioneer of a new era in the history of Lotus. The model immediately became popular among fans of sports cars. The car owes its success to an unusual, futuristic exterior and original bodywork. The supporting structure, made of aluminum panels, weighed only 70 kg. It featured external body panels made of composite materials, a steel beam of the rear axle and a protective arc. Engineers used light alloys to achieve a surprisingly low weight of the car, reaching only 690 kg. In order to reduce the overall weight, the entire motor was also made of aluminum. The 1.8-liter engine produced 122 hp. The car accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. The maximum speed reached 202 km/h.
