More than 60 years ago, Colin Chapman (UK) registered a company with the pompous name Lotus Engineering. He started out with re-assembling old engines and ended up building a world-renowned champion car and sports car. Under Chapman's leadership, Lotus has won six Formula One championships and seven Constructors’ championships as well as Indy 500. The legendary creator of Lotus was a pioneer in sport car aerodynamics, the inventor of wedge-shaped bodies and the discoverer of the ground effect.
