Mercedes SLK-Class – overview
The Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class is a compact luxury roadster produced by Mercedes-Benz (Germany) from 1996 to 2016. The new model was distinguished by a hard convertible top, which folded into the luggage compartment by an electro-hydraulic system in 25 seconds, turning the car into a convertible. The rear-wheel drive, front-engine car was equipped with a 4-cylinder gasoline engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. The third generation car featured a glass roof with an adjustable degree of transparency. The modern Mercedes SLK-Class complies with Euro 6 emission standards, and LED daytime running lights and a 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic transmission are standard. In 2016, Mercedes-Benz announced the renaming of the series to the SLC-Class.
