Mercedes W111 - catalog and technical specifications
The Mercedes-Benz W111 is a full-size executive car produced by Mercedes-Benz from 1959 to 1971. It was available in sedan and coupe bodies. The W111 models are known for their "fins" that came to replace pontoons. Moreover, it was the first car used by Mercedes-Benz in the company’s first crash test. And although there were no modern mannequins or sensors then, the impact proved that the body with the "capsule" was much safer. The Mercedes-Benz W111 was the first in the world to be equipped with a safety steering column, a soft front panel and seat belts with 3-point fastening.
