Nanjing (English: Nanjing Automobile Corporation) is a Chinese car company established in 1947, making it one of the oldest automobile manufacturers in China. It started its activities with trucks, collaborating with companies like Isuzu, Iveco, and Fiat, purchasing their technologies and production rights. The range of models expanded to include light and medium buses, military and civilian SUVs, special vehicles, agricultural machinery, and various types of chassis. In the late 1990s, they acquired the production rights for the Seat Ibiza. Then, in 2005, Nanjing Automobile bought the British MG Rover Group for $104 million. Additionally, Nanjing owns rights to brands like Austin, Vanden Plas, and several others. Since 2007, it has belonged to the state-owned corporation SAIC Motor (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation).
