The American automaker Panoz was founded in 1989 by the racer and engineer Dan Panoz. It was Panoz who built the chassis for Maserati and Alfa Romeo in the 90s. One of his cars even won the German Touring Car Championship, the predecessor to the DTM series. So, Panoz decided to start developing its first road car. This is how Panoz AIV roadster revealed itself. The next model, Esperanto, constituted the basis for a whole range of Panoz sports cars. Panoz’s own racing team has been participating in the A1 series since 2008 after it unveiled its first Formula racing car. The brand new road model, Abruzzi, a joint development of Panoz and Ford, was released in 2010.
