Superbird

Plymouth Superbird generations

The Plymouth Superbird is an unusual modification of the Road Runner muscle car with a strange design, but very impressive racing qualities for its time, as the original model was completely redesigned specifically for NASCAR races. It was released in 1970. The car featured engines producing 425, 390 and 375 hp. Of special note was the rear fender that was mounted on high vertical struts, which ensured better airflow, increasing the efficiency of the downdraft. For almost 30 years, Chrysler kept its mathematical formula for determining the exact height of the huge fender a secret.
